Gifted Heart

Michael is a great storyteller and wrote Gifted Heart, a tale of hate, love, and mystery. In 1947, life was much simpler, and he explored the souls of common folks after the war had ended. His research of the American and Chinese cultures of the era brings life to a world that most people have forgotten.

The reader is transported to a bygone era of conundrums and questionable scruples.

Inherited Wife

Larry re-cocked the gun and stepped forward, deliberately and slowly. “You made me suffer for your wicked plan. That’s what the first bullet was for. Now you’re going to hell.” He pointed the revolver at my head.

What a way to die. What would happen to Sally, our baby, and the ladies? Was this the end of our plans? I closed my eyes against the inevitable.

Another pop.

Hand Gun

I was still breathing and cracked open my eyes.

Larry’s right arm hung limp and blood coursed down his sleeve.

“Daddy,” screamed Jenny, “drop the gun.” She stood at the bottom of the front steps, pointing her gun at Larry’s back.

“Daddy, I mean it. Drop the gun.”

My head spun like a top.

Larry dropped the gun and retrieved it with his left hand.

Jenny stepped closer. “Daddy, drop the gun. I’ll shoot. I mean it.”

Larry growled, “Woody has to die. Then you can shoot me.”
